It has been 2 years since we saw the release of the first Android phone, the HTC Dream. This phone spawned the likes of the G1, myTouch 3g, and it played a big part in the development of almost every phone on the market today. It has been a long run for the Dream, considering we now have devices like the Xoom, but all good things must come to an end.
CyanogenMod has officially stated that at CM 6.x, there will no more support for the Dream. Is this a sad day for the Dream owners? I think not, considering how long the phone has been around, and how long CyanogenMod has continued support for the device.
If you are a Dream owner, don’t fret quite yet. CM 6.x and previous releases are still available online, but there will no more ROMs support (i.e. CM7). If you are looking for custom ROMs to put on your G1 or myTouch 3g, look no further than the XDA-Developers website.
