3LM: Three Laws Mobility, Specialists in Android Security for Enterprise Networks
To deal with this problem, Motorola Mobility have stepped in by purchasing 3LM (Three Laws Mobility). 3LM develops enterprise security along with management tools for Android. 3LM will continue as an independent subsidiary which also provides APIs to Sony Ericsson, HTC, Pantech and Sharp.
The Future of Android Security
At the OS level, Motorola are planning to create APIs for Android that would be added to the missing security and management capabilities. This strategy would help Android by making it manageable via policies by mobile device management tools such as MobileIron, Zenprise and Good Technology.
Motorola are planning to offer its own mobile management suite by July. With this suite, the company would provide the security features that corporations are looking for and attract them towards Android devices for its employees. And better Android security means better acceptance of Android within the corporation as well as by us enthusiasts.
