Its Here And It Could Be Yours
With today being the 17th of March it can only mean one thing. The Motorola Atrix has arrived. You can now grab the phone from Bell setting you back $599.95 off contract, with on contract deals coming in at $579.95 for 1 year; $549.95 for 2 years and $169.95 for the 3 years (with the Smartphone plan of $50/monthly or more). Bell also has the Lapdock and HD Dock priced at $329.95 and $129.95 respectively.
The Specs
A look at the specs will tell you this has the potential to be a great phone. 1 GHz Nvidia Dual Core Processor, 4-inch qHD (960 x 540), 1 GB of DDR2 RAM, 16 GB of internal memory with upto 32 GB of additional memory thanks to a MicroSD slot (making 48 GB of storage in total), 1930 mAh battery, VGA quality front facing camera for video calls (or anyone checking the state of their hair), 5 megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash and 720p video recording, HDMI out, WiFi, GPS, Flash 10.1 and last but not least a Biometric fingerprint reader. On the software side it will come with MotoBlur (Motorola’s own Android skin), and Android 2.2 Froyo, although Motorola are promising a 2.3 Gingerbread upgrade as well (expected later this year).
Will You/Wont You
Canadians your time is now. Will you buy the latest and greatest Android phone. A phone on the bleeding edge of what is possible in terms of mobile hardware at the moment. As someone living in the UK, I am going to have to wait a little longer just to even touch one! (Yes I’m jealous.) If you are now a proud owner of the Atrix do leave a comment to tell us how you’re getting a long with it so far.
