Acer Iconia Tab A500: Xoom Comparisons
A lot of fuss has been made how well the Motorola Xoom is actually doing in the tablet market. Suffice it to say, there is at least one thing most people are in agreement about, it’s too damn expensive!
Enter the Acer Iconia Tab A500. Apart from 16 GB of internal memory instead of 32 GB, it is almost an exact replica in terms of specs, at a much cheaper price. While the Xoom is priced at $600 for the Wi-Fi only model, the Iconia Tab A500 is priced at a very reasonable $450. It is already up for pre-order at Best Buy‘s website.
Pretty Sweet Deal
To say how little difference there is between the two devices, this makes the Iconia Tab A500 a very tempting buy for anyone who was possibly on the fence about whether or not to get an Android OS 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet. The device itself is equipped with a 1.0 GHz Tegra 2 processor, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory with an SDcard slot for up to an additional 32 GB of storage, 5 MP rear-facing and a 2 MP front-facing cameras, and a 10.1 inch 1280 x 800 WXGA touchscreen.
