Google's Phone Gallery Page is RSS Enabled. Is Also Out of Date and New Devices?

Google has changed their former storefront for selling the Nexus One into a comparison gallery of available Android handsets. Given the numbers of manufacturers and carriers that offer hundreds of handsets this is a really good use of this former storefront. It will provide a spot to go and see what’s new, compare models and hopefully check out carrier plans in the future. The list of devices isn’t all inclusive, but given that it appears to include phones from Europe and Canada there are bound to be a few models that you’ve never heard of.

Names like the Acer Liquid E Ferrari Edition, the Acer Stream, the Sky Izar or Sirius were all new to me. This RSS feed looks to be a recent addition to the Phone Gallery site because most of the phones show a posting date of 4/1 and the majority of devices were added that day. Also, the newest listings are from 4/6 so the list will be out of date as well.

There are some other issues with the site as well. The original MyTouch and Droid models are still listed and the only model under HTC is the Incredible. I didn’t go through each manufacturer and carrier listed but this appears to be a work in progress.

If you haven’t been by in a while go over and have a look at the Google Phone Gallery and add the RSS feed to your reader app in the lower left corner.
