Leap to Offer More Android Devices

Leap Wireless, the company that owns the Cricket brand is back in action after a slow 2010. A two-quarter drop off the map was followed by a resounding 4th quarter in 2010, when 400,000 of its Android devices were sold. The company itself is lining up some exciting offers for 2011, hoping to “leap” with both feet forward into the Android community.

This upcoming summer, Leap will be offering a 7 inch Viewsonic tablet, sans 3G capability. The tablet will be sold with Wi-Fi only, but most likely will be tied together with a 3G-capable device to get some internet going.

As well as a tablet, Leap Wireless will be offering the Samsung Indulge smartphone. The phone will be somewhere in the $300-350 range and will allow for a strong footing into Android phones. Later in the year, Leap is planning to offer between 7-8 different Android phones, so this year sounds like it’ll be an exciting one for the Leap Wireless brand.
