Verizon: Instead of New Every Two, it’s Everyone Take Two

Internal documents from Verizon show that after April 17, a One-Year commitment for a contract will no longer be offered to customers. Verizon will still offer the Two-Year contract option and also the Month-To-Month. The company just has not seen the demand for a One-Year contract among its customers. All the One-Year contract offered was a reduction over the No-Contract or full retail of any of its many CDMA handsets.

As said, the documents state, “Effective April 17, 2011.” Prior to that date any customers signing the One-Year will not be affected in any way. But any customers who are willing to choose an upgrade for a device after the date will not be able to sign the One-Year option.

Not everybody is tied to this new policy. Accounts of Small Businesses, Major, Government, Federal and National can still continue take on this One-Year option if they want to.
