It seems as though Samsung pulled a quick one on us. They have downgraded the internals of the 7 inch Galaxy Tab wifi only model. The GPU, graphics processing unit, is responsible for rendering games and video on your device. If you look closely at the picture you can see it says PowerVR SGX 530. The 3G models use a similar unit but it is an upgraded version of it, the SGX 540. Now this may not seem like a huge difference but it is. Users over at XDA are reporting games running slower, Youtube video playback having trouble too. And it no longer supports HDMI out. Now to try and balance it out, Samsung upped the processor speed to 1.2 Ghz, but it fails to properly fix the problem. The screen size and speed need a stronger GPU to function properly when performing certain tasks and with this lower version, it is not quite cutting it.
