One of Toronto’s fastest growing technology companies BNOTIONS has finalized their acquisition of Mobicartel.
Toronto, Ontario – BNOTIONS, a Toronto-based technology company with a focus on mobile growth has completed the acquisition of Android development shop Mobicartel. The acquisition brings the size of the team to 40 with capabilities in iOS, Android, Blackberry, WP7 as well as all proprietary and open-source programming languages and application frameworks.
Mobicartel is known as one of North America’s leading Android development shops. Having spoken at Austin’s Big Android BBQ, AndroidTO and FITC Screens, Mobicartel has demonstrated thought leadership by inspiring thousands of developers to take Android seriously since its conception.
BNOTIONS has been very involved in the Android community since launching AndroidTO in 2010. The acquisition of Mobicartel is clearly a talent grab to ensure dominance in this quickly growing field. Beyond the talent, the team brings with it a vast portfolio of clients including hip-hop legends Naughty by Nature and local startup success, Guardly.
The key talent involved in the acquisition is the leadership team of Matthew Patience and Greg Carron, as well as developers Scott Mountenay and Travis Coulter. Officially launched in 2010, Mobicartel has developed over 20 Android applications and will be launching Twithaus, a Twitter client optimized for Android tablets in early 2012.
