Acer is trying to catch-up and but also surpass Asus in some ways, with a new 10″ tablet, that is the successor of the Iconia A500, but comes with a quad core Tegra 3 chip, and a Full HD resolution of 1920×1200. Tegra 3 can support resolutions of up to 2560×1600, so this one definitely fits in that range, but you should expect at least some graphic performance impact, because we all know that when raising the resolution the graphic performance drops in games.
However, this might not visibly affect anything if most games don’t already take full advantage of Nvidia’s new GPU. Seeing how this is a very new chip, it will take a while before that will be obvious. Here’s a list of the announced specs:
- 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor
- 10.1″ 1920×1080 display
- microSD slot
- HDMI port
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
- 9.8mm thickness
