Featured: Are these the Samsung Galaxy S III specs? Very well could be.

I’m not sure that BGR would be my choice as most accurate source for leaked Android phone specs, but these are just close enough to reality to say that they just might be right on this one.

The Galaxy S III is probably the most anticipated unannounced phone in the circles that I hang around with, and I know a few people that would love to lay hands on this device whenever it makes it’s appearance stateside.

You could call the cameras, LTE and ICS as obvious, but the others leaked specs seem reasonable too.

  • 1.5GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor
  • 4.8-inch “full HD” 1080p resolution with 16:9 aspect ratio display
  • A 2MP front-facing camera and an 8MP rear camera
  • Ceramic case
  • 4G LTE
  • Android 4.0

That Samsung will use their own processor seems a given, and quad core is the newest hottness, but a ceramic case? That’s the one bit that I’m just not sure about. While I’m aware of the fact that this wouldn’t be your run-of-the-mill coffee cup ceramic, it just doesn’t seem to be the best choice to me. Polycarbonate or aluminum would make more sense, but I suppose it just might be ceramic.

Then we come to that display. 4.8″? I know that size is small by Galaxy Note standards, but it’s also really close in size to the Note. Does Samsung really need two phones that will barely fit in your pocket?

I guess we’ll just have to wait a bit to find out as Samsung has already stated that the Galaxy S III won’t be announced at Mobile World Congress. They intend to shorten the wait between announcement and availability and will announce the Galaxy S III when it’s ready to ship.

I’ll be well prepared to eat my words of doubt at that time.
