Huawei is trying to outdo not only themselves at this MWC event, but also everyone else. Their MediaPad 10 FHD is the most advanced Android tablet announced MWC so far. It features their own quad core 1.5 Ghz processor, which they claim it’s even better than Nvidia’s Tegra 3, it has a Full HD resolution display of 1920×1200, 2 GB of RAM, and 8 amd 1.3 MP cameras. And the whole tablet is only 8.8mm thin and weighs 598g.
The closest competition right now off the top of my head is the Transformer Prime 700T, which has been announced and demo-ed, but not launched. It’s possible that Asus’ Super IPS+ display is higher quality than Huawei’s, but we can’t know for sure right now. Otherwise the resolutions are the same.
One disadvantage that the Transformer Prime 700T has compared to the MediaPad 10 FHD is that it only has 1 GB of RAM, and for a device like the Transformer, that can be used as a mini-computer, that’s a pretty low amount. I await the day when we’ll see 4 GB of RAM in our tablets, but that might be a couple of years away. Until then 2 GB should be enough, and Huawei seems to be among the first to announce it.
