Featured: LG Unveils 3 New Smartphones: L3, L5 and L7

LG’s success in the Android ecosystem has been mostly alright in regards to sales and brand awareness, but they should be able to do a lot better. They still have that stigma they they produce subpar devices, or Samsung clones, and in many cases that’s true. Considering both are from a small country, this is bound to happen, but that doesn’t mean LG can’t think a little more outside the box for themselves.

I expect the trend to be like Samsung to continue, and the latest devices prove this. The somewhat strangely named L3, L5 and L7 phones still try to look a little too much like Samsung devices, although a little more “squarish”. This seems to be a trend with their upcoming devices, but I’m not sure I understand it. But perhaps there will be plenty of people who will buy into this design style.

The L7 will be a 4.3″ phone, the L5 a 4″ one, and the L3 a 3.2″ device. They will have displays similar to the Super AMOLED technology, in the sense that the display will be blended with the touchscreen, to the text and images appear to pop up.  But it’s not clear whether they will use AMOLED technology as well.

The devices will run Android 4.0 straight out of the gate, and most likely will feature processors from lower end single core for the L3 to even a quad core chips for the L7 and maybe even the L5.
