Acer is looking to further expand their tablet line today as the previously announced-at-CES tab is now ready for your hard-earned cash over at Acer’s US website, as you can see $449.99 will get you the A510 with 32GB of onboard storage and Wi-Fi.
The A510 is certainly no slouch when it comes to specs, it’s packing a quad-core Tegra 3 CPU clocked at a nippy 1.3 Ghz making this the second tablet to launch in the US with Tegra 3. It also comes packed with a fairly massive 9800mAh battery, couple that Tegra 3’s fancy power-effiency and your tab should last a hell of a long time, something that is somewhat of a worry to tablet buyers and as always it comes with a 5-megapixel camera round back with a 1-megapixel looking right at you.
The price isn’t too bad either as it’s friend the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime (doesn’t get shorter, the more you say it) currently retails in it’s 32GB guise at $530 at Amazon without the wizardry of the keyboard dock, meaning that this tablet could well be a hit for Acer.
It ships with Ice Cream Sandwich (a requirement this late in the game) which is just lovely to see, thanfully Acer has kept the build relatively stock by only adding a few apps and their fancy Acer Ring add-on (which I, for one, quite like), yet they still insist on changing the ICS On-screen navigation buttons, something that I will never understand.
