There were some rumors a few months back that Samsung is making a tablet that is larger than 10.1″ (possibly 11.6″) that has an ultra-high resolution of 2560×1600 (which would be double the resolution of their current 10.1″ tablets), and will also feature a dual core 2 Ghz Cortex A15 chip with a Mali T604 GPU (Exynos 5250). New rumors say that Samsung is launching another tablet alongside the Galaxy S3, that has a dual core processor. Could this tablet be the high-resolution one we’re expecting?
Chances are high that this could indeed be this tablet. First, because the Galaxy Note 10.1 is already said to feature a quad core processor (Exynos 4412), so if Samsung is announcing another tablet, then it should be an even better and more powerful one. The rumor also says it’s dual core, so putting everything together, it can only mean it has the Exynos 5250 chip.
What’s strange about all of this, though, is that they would announce both the tablet and the phone in the same day, and yet according to most rumors, the Galaxy S3 will use the quad core processor. That will be difficult to explain, that the tablet is actually more powerful, and it also makes little sense to not launch them in the same time with the same processor, even if that means lowering the clock speed of the phone down to say 1.7 Ghz or even 1.5 Ghz.
So either they are actually doing this strange arrangement, or the Galaxy S3 might still have that Exynos 5250 chip as well. I guess we’ll all have to wait until May 3rd to find out the truth, considering Samsung is keeping this launch extremely secret.
