After Samsung announced the Galaxy S III at their launch event last week, it was no time at all before LG hoped to steal some of the spotlight with their new smartphone, the LG Optimus LTE2. One of the features that’s gained some attention and hasn’t been done before is the 2GB of RAM onboard. Most new smartphones come with 1GB RAM. The extra gig should definitely add some extra speed.
The phone also packs a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 4.7 inch True HD IPS display, Android 4.0, 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, wireless charging capability, 16GB built-in storage, and 2,150mAh battery.
A few photos have leaked and what’s interesting to note is how similar it looks to the Samsung Galaxy S II. If you put both phones side by side, it would be pretty easy to mistake the LG for the Galaxy or at least think they’re both from the same company. Apple has went after Samsung and still continues to over their design of the Galaxy line of phones and how it’s a copy of the iPhone. It’s pretty safe to say that this new smartphone from LG looks more of a copy than Samsung supposedly copying Apple.
Anyways, we’ve got photos of the Optimus LTE2 below as well as a shot of the Galaxy S II. What do you think?
