Featured: Samsung Galaxy S3 to Launch in UK May 3rd, Pricing and More Revealed

It seems that the new flagship from Samsung is ready and willing to begin its world tour in the UK fairly soon. Admittedly it’s launching one day later than the rest of Europe but, still to announce a new product and ship it the same month in any region is a massive achievement – even it is the end of the said month.

Engadget has the info on where and who in the UK will have the Galaxy S3 come May 30th. The infamous Carphone Warehouse has the phone listed for pre-order for the grand sum of £499.95 SIM-free (can anyone put a price on that thing of beauty aboive?), whilst Orange have only indicated that they will carry the phone (shocker), Vodafone has revealed that they have a timed exclusive – lasting a month – on the 32GB version of the beast. Whilst on Three UK you can pre-order the phone starting tomorrow, May 4th, on their all-you-can-eat data plan for £34 a month.

It would appear that the One X finally has some serious competition heading to the UK shelves. If you’re someone thinking of upgrading then now’s almost the time. I’m sure that people will have been waiting to see what the Galaxy S3 will bring into the ring against the One X, for me at least I feel Samsung may have just pipped HTC with this one. No other phone released in the last year has had anything close to the features that this mythical beast has brought to the table.

If I were my friend who just signed on to a contract last week for an S2, I’d be pretty mad now.
