The Galaxy S3 is upon us, well, at least May3rd has come and gone at least but, you didn’t think the flood of news would stop there did you? Oh no, my friends, now we have speculation of carrier availability throughout both the states as well as the wider world. It was well rumoured before the announcement that the Galaxy S3 would endure what I – affectionately – referred to as its ‘World Tour’. Samsung has never been one to leave rocks unturned, launching a number of variants of its original Galaxy S and the S2 that followed throughout the globe – seeing releases on the smaller carriers in the US as well.
The Verge have already had a reliable source tip them off to a release on Sprint – LTE to come 2013, I’m sure – but, it seems that Samsung’s own website may have let the cat out of the bag regarding availability on the US’ other carriers such as MetroPCS and US Cellular. If one were to slide on by to Samsung’s very own “register your interest” type site you’ll see there’s a ‘carrier preference’ box that lists the following carriers: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, MetroPCS, C Spire and US Cellular. No small list, right?
It’s going to be interesting to see how Samsung plays the Galaxy S3 launch in the states, particularly due to the fact that in the past Samsung has given the big four some clout in what they do with the Galaxy line of phones. Samsung Fascinate – seriously, what the $%^&* were they thinking – on Verizon anyone? It’d be intriguing to see if Samsung will do anything like this with the newest in the Galaxy line-up, whether or not they’ll provide the big four with their own specific variants this time around remains to be seen. We don’t have too long to wait and, once again, we’ll be here to let you know what’s what as soon as we do.
