Featured: Amazon Launches Its Appstore in Europe; Looking to Start a Fire?

It seems that there’s no real stopping Amazon from becoming a major player in the mobile space at all if, of course, there was any doubt that they could be stopped. Ever since Amazin launched their own Appstore for Android they made it clear that they wanted to play ball in the mobile playground and, it looks like they’re going on tour with it.

Amazon have now launched the Amazon Appstore in a large chunk of Western Europe which includes the following countries: United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain with rumors of other countries to follow. Of course, whilst it was only a matter of time for Amazon to expand their market share in the apps space this begs the question as to whether or not Amazon are readying an International Launch of their Kindle Fire tablet. Apps are the one piece of the puzzle that every mobile device needs to have to make it a viable option and Amazon’s offerings seem to have matured substantially in the last year or two.

If Amazon were to launch the Fire internationally then it could well make waves across the mobile market here in Europe as vendors are already selling pre-owned Kindle Fires at cut rate so there’s definitely a taste for it. The Nexus tablet is going to hurry up and hit the market soon if Google want to beat Amazon to the punch.
