Featured: Google to Announce Big News on The Google TV Front This Week?

I think by now we’re all probably a little tired of hearing about I/O and just want it to be over done with but, we never go tired of this really, do we? Didn’t think so, now, there are rumors circling that Google will be announcing something big concerning Google TV. Of course, this isn’t all that surprising but, it’ll be nice to see Google giving a much needed boost to the fledgling platform.

Sony have recently put up their latest Google TV offerings up for sale outside of the US, bringing Google TV to people outside of the US for the first time. This, alone could be a clue that Google are looking to give their TV solution a big push since its release. The platform has hardly been at the forefront of people’s minds when they think of a set-top box, with many of the cable companies providing a box that does the job for a lot of people.

FOX News are reporting with “sources familiar to the keynote” of course, that Google are planning to announce a slew of updates to the platform including a one stop shop for live TV, its DVR and Netflix all in one interface as well as as improved integration between smartphones and tablets. This is something that could make Google TV successful if they hit the integration nail on the head then it’ll draw in more users than ever before.

Expect more info on this from Google I/O…tomorrow and keep it here on Android Headlines!!
