Featured: TV Giant Vizio to Enter Google TV Market at $99

If you’ve ever gone to your local Wal-Mart to look for a new TV then you’ve more than likely come across Vizio, an American company that has risen to the top of the TV market in the US. The outfit has since made its way into the Windows PC market with its line of All-In-Ones and Ultrabooks that run Windows 7.

Vizio are now looking to further solidify their lead in the TV market by releasing a Google TV box. Named the Co-Star it’s a Google TV box that will be running the Chrome HTML5 browser, feature DLNA streaming and a few selected apps. The build is a slightly skinned build and will connect to your TV via HDMI pass-through. Vizio have also let lose the secret that the box will be doing double-duty as an OnLive streamer, making this an attractive alternative to the few, other Google TV alternatives.

This isn’t the first time that Vizio has released a product with Google’s wares, they released an Android tablet last year and whilst it didn’t fare all that well, releasing a Google TV box is right in their wheelhouse and could boost Google TV adoption in the states at least, as the brand has long been in the living room.
