We were all wondering what the Galaxy SIII might look like and now it seems like we might have just discovered the answer thanks to a tipster and our friends over at Android Police. Of course, the fact that Verizon are carrying the Galaxy SIII might be good news to those becoming increasingly disillusioned with the carrier but thanks to these photos we now know that it might be more Galaxy SIII on Verizon than Verizon’s Galaxy SIII. Which, if you ask me, can only be a good thing. Hell, here in the UK I won’t consider going with a carrier if they throw on their label on the back on a phone let alone some of the stuff you guys in the states seem to have to put up with.
So, it’s nice to see that Verizon are only lightly skinning their latest and greatest from Samsung. As you can see in the photos below, it seems Verizon have left the front of the device free from branding and haven’t altered the general shape in the device at all from the International version.
They’ve also left that physical home button just like T-Mobile have, which is nice to see as in the past Verizon have been happy to change the look of Samsung’s wares to however they see fit.
On the back of the phone you can see that not much has changed apart from Verizon’s stamp seems as prominent as ever. Along with a nice subtle “4G LTE” logo on the back, meaning you’ll be able to enjoy some lovely proper 4G service from Verizon on what’s looking to be one of the bigger launches for the year. It’ll be interesting to see how this model from Verizon will fair against T-Mobile’s HSPA+ loving faux-G variant.
As always, things could change as these are only photos gifted to Android Police from a tipster however, for Verizon to have devices such as these out in the wild, it stands to reason that this is of production quality. Samsung have been saying that the US Version of the Galaxy SIII will not come with their quad-core exynos but instead a dual-core Snapdragon S4 clocked at 1.5Ghz – the same that powers the padfone and the One S – along with 2GB of RAM. I know I’d rather have the Cortex-A15 architecture and loads of RAM instead of a quad-core processor although, that’s just me.
We’ll keep you posted on any other news we have of the Galaxy SIII making its rounds across the rest of the globe.
