Featured: Motorola Xoom Soak Test, Yes it's Jelly Bean!

The only AOSP device that is not a Nexus, the Wifi version of the Motorola Xoom is about to join in on the Jelly Bean fun. For those that may not remember, the Motorola Xoom was the first Honeycomb device, and also the first tablet to enter the ranks of AOSP.

This update will bring the device all the way up to Android 4.1.1, and according to Motorola, will bring a much improved and more responsive user interface, expandable and actionable notifications, a smarter keyboard, improved text-to-speech capabilities, voice search as well as an improved search experience. Which isn’t really anything different from Jelly Bean updates on other devices.

For those interested in the build number it is JRO03H. Invites for the soak test are going live now and if everything goes smoothly with the soak test we should see the official OTA in about a week, maybe less. It’s also important to note that this is the Wifi version, and not the Verizon version.

Update: It looks like the soak test has been put on hold. The Motorola Forums Manager, Matt, has just informed us over on their support forums. Check out the screen shot above for all the details.
