When Google announced the Nexus 7 tablet at Google I/O a few weeks ago, it was no surprise that it would be the hottest Android tablet to debut and launch this year. Turns out, it definitely held that title. Since making its way to retail stores and the first batch of online orders shipping out to customers, the tablet has been selling out in stores and online as well.
The price point combined with the rock solid specs makes the Nexus 7 a no brainer to pick up if you’re in the market for a new tablet. Not only that, but there are also people who have never even owned a tablet before, but are making sure to grab this one. According to the Google Play Store, the 16GB version is now delayed by 3-4 weeks. The 8GB version is still about right, shipping in 1-2 weeks.
Now, Asus hasn’t always been good with supply and demand in the past. When it came to the Transformer Prime, they were hard to find for a little while. Hopefully that’s not the same thing we’re seeing here and is just because of such a huge demand for the 7 inch tablet. All of that aside, it does make one wonder if Google is intentionally doing this to generate even more buzz and interest.
A conspiracy theory for sure, but it hasn’t stopped companies in the past.
