Not too long ago ZTE announced the ZTE Grand X for its’ European and Asia-Pacific markets to be available later this year. Now it looks like ZTE is getting ready to bring another high-end device into the US and put it on Sprint’s Now Network.
The ZTE Flash is currently slated to launch on Sprint this October, running Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich, a beautiful 4.5-inch IPS HD display (1280×720 resolution) with Gorilla Glass, powered by a 1.5GHz Dual-Core processor, a full gigabyte of RAM and dual cameras, 12.6MP rear camera and a 1MP front facing camera for video chats. Of course it’ll run Sprint’s new LTE network, which is only available in a hand full of cities currently, but should be expanded by the time this device releases. The device also comes with 8GB of onboard storage, a SD card slot and a nice 1780mAh battery.
Since the release is still a couple of months away, we are hoping ZTE will bump this device up to Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean, especially since ZTE devices are almost fully stock Android devices. The ZTE Flash will join the list of LTE devices on Sprint including the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, HTC EVO LTE, Samsung Galaxy S3, LG Viper, and Motorola Photon Q which is due to launch next month. These specs do look good, but if it does launch with Ice Cream Sandwich, will it still sell as well as it could if it were running Android 4.1?
