With all the technology that we can fit into our pockets you’d think we’d use this processing power in order to keep ourselves in check, keep ourselves fit, right? Nope, not a lot of us do and you know why? Because it’s a hassle. Apps like Endomondo are incredibly powerful for tracking your workouts etc but, having to deal with all the data can be tiresome. Let’s get all of these facts and figures out of the way and get down to something a little more relaxing. Daily Yoga (All-in-One) is an app that will teach you how to properly exercise through Yoga, with very little input from yourself. Just let the experts talk you through it and relax whilst doing it. No more pesky data input forms just Yoga. Read on to see what all the fuss is about.
Description: There are plenty of Yoga apps available for every platform, including a lot of them for Android. Daily Yoga (All-in-One) aims to become the only Yoga app that you’ll ever need, by becoming a Swiss Army knife of Yoga. This isn’t like the other Yoga apps you’ll find flooding the Play Store, it doesn’t just give you some pictures with a little text.
Oh no, Daily Yoga provides you a full experience. The app will take you through carefully designed Yoga classes, with HD video and live voice instructions. As well as this there’s a lot on offer, four schools of Yoga – Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin – and varying durations – in increments of 5/10/15/20/30/45 min. This offers you masses of flexibility, letting you have a small workout before work and longer workouts for the weekends. There’s a massive amount of Yoga workouts including as well, to help with your abs right to your back and down to your butt. Workouts are also added continuously as well.
How It Works: Once you’ve got the app installed from the Play Store just go ahead and open up the app. Here you’re presented with a menu on the right hand side, with a number of options listed.
This will take you through to whatever you want to do. For instance, if you’re experienced with Yoga you can just go and take a look at the pose library for reference. I’m not experienced at all so I’m going to take advantage of the instruction aspect of the app so, just click on “Start Training” to get started. This will take you to the screen that lists the workouts available.
I’ve had a problem with my back ever since a Basketball injury so I’m going to try “Daily Yoga for Back”. Below you can see the options available to me on the right relating to time as well intensity. I’m not that flexible – although I should be after this app review, right? – so I’m going to try a 10 minute workout. To keep the intial app size down you’ll need to install a plugin for each workout you choose. Of special note here is the description on the left-hand side, giving me a run down of how this is going to help. Perfect for someone like me who has had little exposure to Yoga.
From the same main menu at the beginning you can also access Yoga Music as well as contact Daily Yoga’s advisor through the “More” section. If you’ve got some friends who are into Yoga – or you’re looking for some that are – then you can sign up to the community to share photos, follow other Yogis and send each other messages. Perfect if you’ve got some friends looking to get into Yoga or you want to make some new friends with what you have in common – yoga.
Opinion: Considering I sit at my desk for hours at a typing away I’ve become increasingly aware of poor posture, not to mention the fact that sitting all day at a desk is hardly doing my figure any good. With Daily Yoga I find myself actually motivated to alleviate some of the problems sitting still comes with. The greatest thing about the app for me, was the fact that there’s no pressure put upon myself – it may be called Daily Yoga but I can come and choose when and where to do it. This gets Yoga feeling less like a chore and more a positive part of your lifestyle.

- Speed (3/5) – The app itself is speedy however, downloading 30MB plug-ins for each workout can slow you down depending on your connection.
- Features (5/5) – There’s no shortage of exercises here and the interactive videos are brilliant.
- Theme (5/5) – With a bright blue and white theme throughout the whole app there’s consistency and good look and feel here.

Pros
- Being able to pick the app up and start with Yoga is great for those who don’t know how to start.
- HD Videos give great examples of how to get through the workouts.
- With so much on offer you’re bound to find something for you no matter how experienced you are,
Cons
- Having to download 30MB plug-ins for workouts can get tiresome.
Conclusion: I’ve grown up with technology and I’ve been amazed at all the things we can now do on mobile. However, I’ve never been too fussed by the health apps out there. Daily Yoga changed my mind on this front and introduced me to Yoga in the best way possible. I didn’t have to worry about being in a room with strangers laughing at how poor my posture is. I’m given the freedom to choose how much time I spend as well as which workouts to do. Making this type of Yoga fit around your schedule, not the other way round. If you haven’t done so already, don’t hesitate to install the app from the Play Store now!
