The same thing happens every time we get wind of a new device on the horizon – stuff gets leaked and, more often than not, it’s normally the big companies that have stuff leaked throughout their various outlets throughout the internet. Whether or not they do this for the press is unclear but, let’s face it at this stage Samsung could do with every bit of good press they can get. Today, Samsung’s Facebook page for Pakistan released a status update that simply said “Picture perfect view made even more perfect with Samsung Galaxy Note”, below this uninteresting status update however, was a picture of a phone that nobody has ever seen before. It’s certainly not the original Galaxy Note, that’s for sure.
The phone in question is clearly not a shipping Samsung device and looks to have a crazily thin bezel either side of the phone and there doesn’t appear to be any capacitive buttons. Considering the rumoured 5.5″ display software buttons is but a drop in the ocean. There’s no word on whether or not the Note 2 will come with an improved processor and GPU of that in the GSIII or a new chipset altogether but, Korea Times are reporting that the display inside will be a flexible panel. Whether this means the phone will incorporate a curved display or not is unclear but, Samsung has been researching flexible panels for a long time now, as well as reducing the size of their displays as well.
We’ll have more surrounding the Galaxy Note 2 when the unveiling happens August 29th.
