The guy’s over at EA have been busy. In the last year they have launched some really good major titles for mobile platforms. We’re talking huge titles too like Deadspace, more recently Mass Effect: Infiltrator, and the Real Racing series. Well just today EA and their new studio “Firemonkey” have made an announcement about their next big title, Real Racing 3. I never got a chance to check out Real Racing 2, but after seeing the visuals for 3 I’m going to be downloading it and checking it out after this post. Not to mention for a limited time the game will be on sale for $0.99 on the Play Store. That’s enough of a reason to pick it up. Now I know some people despise EA. Yes they have had some crappy practices, but you can’t argue that a lot of their games are just damn awesome. So get over it and just play the games cause you know you’ll do it secretly anyway. Personally speaking from playing both their Android version of Deadspace and ME: Infiltrator, they are doing good work on Android. So I am stoked to see what they do here with RR3. As someone who’s also played any of the last few major Asphalt games from Gameloft, I would pick this over and Asphalt title any day. Im not saying that Asphalt 7, 6, or 5 haven’t been any good, just that I think the Real Racing games look better. I guess I’ll know for sure once I try RR2 here soon.
Now the trailer above lists that the game is still in pre-alpha stages and that the visuals are obviously from there as well. With how impressive the video already is though that just means more eye candy and even more graphically impressive gameplay come release time. At first glance it looks pretty good, but once you take in the surroundings and remember that this is reallllll early in development, that is when you have your epiphany that this game might actually make you feel like you’re the baddass behind the wheel. Seriously, the graphics here made me slap myself to see if I was dreaming or not. Turns out I’m not… and now my face hurts. The good news is that this game will kick some major ass. EA also took the liberty to comment on this game, and what it is going to bring to the mobile gaming space.
“Real Racing 3 will also include a full lineup of real world tracks from the top names around the world including Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Silverstone. With a 22 car grid, gamers will be able to pit themselves against 21 other drivers in one race. – EA / Firemonkeys”
So far, there has not been an official announcement on when we can expect this game to speed onto the pages of the play store but we can bet on the fact that when it does, it will roll in at redline and in first place. I expect nothing less and the excitement levels here at androidheadlines are pretty high. For the gamers at least. *points to himself* Are you guys out there just as eager to get your hands on EA’s newest racing phenomenon? As all of EA’s recent titles have been launched on both iOS and Android in fairly quick fashion after announcements, we can definitely expect this game sometime before the end of the year. Once we know more information ourselves, we’ll let you in on the juicy details. Until then, enjoy the screenshots, the teaser trailer, and go pick up Real Racing 2 to hold you over.
