Well, based on a report from Bloomberg it looks like Google’s Motorola is giving Apple a taste of their own medicine. Now normally you wouldn’t see these types of reports coming from Android Headlines or any other credible Android blog yet, since the suit hasn’t gone public yet and we have absolutely zero details on this lawsuit. But this is an important lawsuit for Android and operating systems’ future. This is the first lawsuit from Motorola being officially completely a part of Google. And that’s right, Google signed off on this and is not wasting any time in the courtroom.
With this action by Google and Motorola it looks like Google is playing not just a defensive role with Motorola’s patents. Motorola had this to say about the action: “Apple’s unwillingness to work out a license leaves us little choice but to defend ourselves and our engineers’ innovations.” That pretty much sums it all up.
Now what’s interesting here is that Motorola is seeking import bans to the United States on almost everything Apple makes. This includes iPads, iPhones, iPods and various computer models the fruit company produces. At this point we don’t know too much of what the whole suit includes but we’ll be sure to update you as soon as we learn more.
What would be interesting is to see if these items of Apple’s actually do get banned. But honestly I’ve about had it with all this legal stuff and patent wars. I know I’m tired of seeing all these articles surrounding Android about patents and that Apple copied Samsung. Who else is tired of hearing about these lawsuits between Apple and everyone else?
