Featured: Motorola Droid M hitting Verizon for $149 next month?

It looks as if Verizon and Motorola are going to be launching two devices next month. We already know that the Droid Razr HD is headed to Verizon next month. Now some images have turned up that were formerly called the Razr Mini, and now are being referred to as the Droid M.

Now we have heard about this Verizon and Motorola event that will take place on September 5th in New York City, but it’s unlikely that this phone would get a huge event. It’s still most likely that the event is for the much rumored Droid Razr HD, but we may still see the Droid M at that event. The reason why we think it’s going to be close to the Razr in spec’s is the model number is XT907 which is very close to the Razr model number. As far as the rumored specs we’re expecting a 4.3-inch qHD 960×540 resolution display, and yes that is not an HD display. Powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 device. And based on these specs, if true, would be great for a mid ranged device but for a flagship device, it won’t cut it.

It will be on Verizon so of course it’ll have 4G LTE connectivity, and the usual kevlar back we’ve seen on recent Motorola devices including the Atrix HD, Razr and Razr Maxx. We’re also expecting the price to hit in the $149 range, and if Motorola keeps it’s word it will be able to have its’ bootloader unlocked. We’ll be sure to bring you the news at the event on September 5th on both the Droid M and the Droid Razr HD, so stay tuned.

Any of our readers looking forward to this Motorola Droid M? Personally I’m not to excited about the name, but it’s nice to see a short name compared to the phones we’ve seen released lately. One perfect example is the Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE, that’s just to long of a name, right? Anyways let us know what you think in the comments.
