Featured: Motorola's Droid Razr HD Show's its face again

Ah yes, the Droid Razr HD we’ve seen leaked over and over again over the last few months. Today an XDA forum user posted some pics of the device and said “A friend sent these pictures of the new Droid HD. His friend is an engineer for Motorola and gave him the phone to try out. didn’t know where to post these but just wanted to share.”. I wonder if that Motorola engineer will be getting in trouble now? Since you can see a unique number at the top of the device near the Motorola logo.

We also saw this device pass through the FCC last week with Verizon branding, which means it will definitely be a Droid something since big red has exclusivity on the Droid brand. But if you look closely in the picture you can tell that the device was made for Vodafone. Even the model numbers are pretty close to the same, XT925 and XT926. In the past we’ve seen Motorola release Droid’s on Verizon then release a GSM version in its’ European markets shortly after, but without tache Droid name. This has been the case with phones such as the original Droid (internationally called the milestone), Droid X, Droid 2, Droid Razr/Razr Maxx, and a few others.

This International Razr HD appears to be running Ice Cream sandwich, Android 4.0.4. We are hoping that changes to Android 4.1.1 before release. Other than that we don’t know too much about this Razr HD. We’re expecting relatively the same specs as in AT&T’s Atrix HD, and Sprint’s Photon Q.

So what about a release date? Well that’s nowhere in sight. Both Verizon and Motorola has yet to confirm the specs of this device yet, or said anything about a release date, so all we can do is speculate. But the device has passed through the FCC already, so the next steps before release is a Press Release from Verizon about the device and shortly after (normally) a release date is confirmed. But with Verizon release dates change constantly. We all remember the Galaxy Nexus launch last December right?

For pricing on Verizon it’ll probably cost you $299 on contract as most other flagship devices on Verizon now. If we hear anything else about the Droid Razr HD we’ll be sure to keep our readers updated with the latest. So who’s interested in the Droid Razr HD?
