Seems like T-Mobile is making all kinds of news today. This morning we reported that EverythingEverywhere which is a result of T-Mobile UK and Orange UK’s merger, was granted the ability to use spectrum for LTE beginning next month. Now it looks like T-Mobile is looking to prevent Sprint from saying they are the only nationwide carrier to offer truly unlimited data.
Just to be clear, this unlimited data plan is said to have no data caps, overage limits, throttles, or anything else. Meaning it’s similar to Sprint’s unlimited data plan but with better data speeds. As far as pricing goes, it looks like it’s going to cost classic customers $30 and value customers $20. It’s also available for all account types including Small Business, Enterprise and even in Puerto Rico. But there is a bit of a catch, the plan cannot be combined with the personal hotspot, you’ll have to purchase the 5GB or 10GB package.
Outside of tethering, you can practically anything with this unlimited data package, including downloading new ROM’s and updates to those ROMs. This has got to make T-Mobile fans and customers very happy. Even if you’re not a T-Mobile customer, you still have to like this move. I’m hoping that T-Mobile really markets this new plan as it should definitely bring customers back to the nation’s fourth largest carrier.
So what are the thoughts on this? Is it enough to get you to switch over to T-Mobile? If Sprint doesn’t roll out LTE in a timely fashion, I know I’ll be switching over to the magenta carrier.
