There’s a lot of high end phones out there from dual-core to quad-core processors, vibrant, rich displays, 1GB or more of RAM, NFC and all sorts of other goodies, but with those higher specs comes a higher price tag. While a lot of people opt for a two year contract, for many, that can be quite expensive and be more than what they need.
While we can crack jokes about prepaid phones, they still exist and a lot of people still use them. Sure, you can pick up a little Nokia TracFone at Walmart for very little money and then some in regards to minutes, but prepaid phones have definitely evolved from the Nokia brick days. T-Mobile is appealing to the market that prefers prepaid, yet doesn’t need a super fancy phone with all the bells and whistles.
T-Mobile announced the Concord which is currently available in Walmart and will be available at Target starting August 26th. It’s available for $99.99 on one of T-Mobile’s no contract plans. Here’s the specs:
- 3.5 inch display
- 832MHZ processor
- 512MB RAM
- MicroSD card support up to 32GB
- 2 megapixel camera
- Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi b/g/n
- 1500mAh battery
- Android 2.3 Gingerbread
As we said, it’s not a speed demon, but it’s not supposed to be. It’s enough to get the job done and on a budget, you can save quite a chunk of cash instead of shelling out a couple hundred dollars or more on a new phone plus upwards of $100/month on top of that.
