Still caught in a very big legal battle, Samsung has yet another problem to deal with. Apple and Samsung’s court case started this week and is expected to last the next few weeks, however, Apple isn’t having any of it and clearly wants a decision stat. Before the court case even started, Samsung leaked evidence which was clearly posted all over the Internet which showed that Apple was getting ideas and inspiration from Sony with their original iPhone design.
Looking at the leaked photos which you can learn more about here, Apple even went as far to put the Sony logo on them. Apple wasn’t too pleased about it and believes it painted them in a negative light before even entering the trial. Because of this, they have filed a request asking the Judge, Lucy Koh, who we’ve seen to not be the best judge when it comes to patent disputes, to issue a verdict which says Apple’s patents are valid and therefore Samsung is in the wrong.
Of course Apple would request this as they want to win, as does either side in a court case. This is definitely tough for Samsung because the evidence that was leaked, wasn’t asked for by the press which is being claimed by Apple. It’s not clear whether Judge Lucy Koh will rule in favor of Apple’s request or the trial will last another few weeks, but we’ll keep you posted on where things go from here.
