Intel hasn’t really had much of a presence in the smartphone and tablet market. Companies like ARM and NVIDIA are much more dominant in the marketplace, though Intel is starting to make some strides and deals with various manufacturers. One of those manufacturers is ZTE who will be launching a new phone powered by Intel called the Grand X.
It’s not a high end phone by any measure, but has some good specs overall.

- 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera

The phone will launch in Europe early next month and features HSPA+ which supports speeds up to 21mbps. The ZTE Grand X looks pretty good and the Intel Atom processor uses hyper threading technology and when idle, the CPU core uses zero power. Intel has a lot of catching up to do and if they really want to gain market share, will need to make their way into far more phones.
