Featured: A 'Martian Pink' Samsung Galaxy S3 becomes official with it's first stop in South Korea

After a leak last week about this ‘Martian Pink’ Galaxy S3, it is now official. But it’s currently only available in South Korea. Samsung is only expecting to make around 100,000 of these to distribute among the country’s three mobile carriers. On the company’s official Korean blog this morning, they quoted (translated via Google Translate):

“The Martian pink Galaxy S III is refined and sensuous. With its distinctive style, we expect a great response from the younger generation and women.”

Samsung has also said that they have sold 3 million Galaxy S3’s in their home country of South Korea. With there being a population of about 50 million, and if my math is correct, that means 6% of the population owns a shiny new Samsung Galaxy S3. Which isn’t surprising since back in January Samsung announced they had sold 5 million Galaxy S2’s, brings it to about 10% of the population. This makes you wonder, how many of these bought the Galaxy S2 then the Galaxy S3, and how many are first time buyers with the Galaxy S3.

Across the world, the Galaxy S3 sales are at the 20 million mark, and that’s supposed to hit 30 million before the year is over. This is probably why Samsung is the top Android manufacturer right now. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see HTC, Motorola, and even Sony give Sammy a run for it’s money. In the smartphone industry, competition is great for the consumer.

In the past, the Pink Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note have made their way over to Europe. So we wouldn’t be surprised if we see this ‘Martian Pink’ Samsung Galaxy S3 come to Europe. Any of the ladies out there wanting this pink Samsung Galaxy S3?
