Featured: Chameleon Launcher finally leaves beta; Blends in while standing out

Good news for lizard lovers out there. Ok, not so much for fans of those fascinating reptilian creatures but definitely for those who have been waiting for the launcher appropriately named after of the coolest reptiles on the planet. Yes, Chameleon Launcher, the most talked about launcher as of late, has finally left Beta status and just showed up on the Play store today. If you have been following the news about Chameleon Launcher since its announcement on Kickstarter back in May, then you probably already know about its beneficial uses and the coolness of it all. For everyone else, Chameleon Launcher sets to Blend in with the rest of the crowd of Home replacement launchers out there in the sense that, it wants to be known as a viable  home replacement. On the flipside, it totally seeks to separate itself from the pack when it comes to everything else. Drastically changing its look based on where you are.

The basic breakdown is that you can set up multiple home screens, with different widgets all tailored to your needs throughout the day. As many of you know, those needs may change based off of where you are, what time it is, and so forth. So what chameleon has done is make it available for you to tweak the context system of the app to change the home screen with the most relevant information based off of your needs. Just like a chameleon would do for itself. Pretty neat eh? You’re damn right it’s neat. With a variation of widgets to choose from and multiple home screen back grounds, there is sure to be a look to please everyone. Choose your wallpaper, set up the information you want on a daily basis and then repeat. Afterwards set up your specifications for the home screens to change based off of your relative context and there you have it! Whether it be location, time, or the network that you’re connected to, Chameleon will modify itself just for you. Now how personal is that? If you’re interested in checking this out it’s worth noting that it is a tablet based home launcher only. I can only hope that they make one for phones later on. And who knows maybe they will if this takes off.

Chameleon has been in a beta testing phase for quite some time now, so this isn’t the first appearance it’s had on the play store. Up until today though it was only available for those who backed it on Kickstarter or pre-ordered the launcher sometime before today’s release. I picked up my pre-order about a month ago and have been messing with it a little every day since. I love it and am glad to see the official release. You can pick it up from the Play Store now for $10.28. So if you’re feeling a bit iffy about the content you need to receive during the day, no problem, let Chameleon fix you up.
