Featured: Jelly Bean is on it's way for the Acer Iconia Tab A700

Right after ASUS started rolling out Jelly Bean to its Transformer Prime and delaying it’s Transformer Infinity TF700 until next week, it looks like it’s Acer’s turn in the spotlight. Acer is rolling out the Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean to it’s Iconia Tab A700. The update is available now, according to many users on XDA’s forums. The update is coming in at about 332MB, so it should take a few minutes or more, depending on your internet speed to download and a couple more to install.

Users in Germany and the US have confirmed that the update is available. So we can say that the update is ready across the world, but it’s not yet confirmed. The Acer Iconia A700 is in direct competition with ASUS’ Transformer Pad Infinity TF700, and beating ASUS to the Android 4.1 upgrade is a huge plus and will make owners of the Iconia A700 very happy.

The update to Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean will bring many enhancements to the tablet. This includes goodies like expandable notifications, project butter, and Google Now. You can go ahead and pull down the update by going into Settings and selecting About Tablet, and finally Check for Updates.

Download and install the update and let us know in the comments how the update is working out for you. You should see more smooth transitions with Project Butter.
