Featured: Samsung's Galaxy S III Outsells The iPhone In The U.S.

Even though there was a quite a court battle going on between Samsung and Apple with Apple winning this time around, that sure didn’t stop people from buying Samsung. The Galaxy S III was released just a few months back and while it was easily one of the most buzzed about Android phones this year, it definitely turned out to be one of the most popular.

According to Apple Insider, Samsung’s Galaxy S III was the top selling phone at 3 out of 4 carriers here in the states and went on to outsell the iPhone. In a market primarily dominated by the iPhone, Samsung has really been making some waves despite patent infringement disputes and outspoken hatred amongst many iOS fans. Of course, that works both ways, but why can’t we all just get along?

Anyways, the data was analyzed by Michael Walkley who works with Canaccord Genuity, a full-service investment bank. This news sure isn’t to sit well with Apple who recently decided to add the Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note 10.1, and the Galaxy S3 to their patent lawsuit. So basically the success will be short lived if they get their way yet again.

Not only that, but the iPhone 5 will debut September 12th which is when Apple will be announcing it and has been said to be the largest handset launch in history. Either way it goes to show that Samsung, while is facing a nasty uphill battle, can continue to do well in the mobile market and especially dominate amongst the dozens of Android phones out there.
