The ASUS Padfone 2 was recently unveiled and brings a different kind of experience to Android users. Instead of having a phone and a tablet, the phone powers the tablet through a docking station on the back.
When it comes to availability, if you live in Taiwan or European countries, you’ll be good to go here soon. However, Adam King of ASUS’ UK Technical PR, said that the Padfone 2 will definitely be coming early next year to the UK. When exactly is another story, but it could be anywhere from January to March.
Best of all, it’ll be rocking LTE among some pretty sweet specs:
- 4.7″ HD IPS+ Display at 1280—720
- 1.5 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor
- 2GB of RAM
- Up to 64GB of internal storage with 50GB of ASUS Web Storage
- 13 megapixel rear-facing camera
- 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera
- NFC, LTE
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
As far as the costs of the Padfone 2, without a carrier contract, it’ll cost upwards of $750 depending on how much storage you need. So, that should give you some idea on how much it’ll cost when it comes to the UK. Now, the tablet doesn’t come with the phone and that will separately run you $200.
One of the most promising features of the Padfone 2 is the 13 megapixel camera which looks very promising and can even take up to 100 shots continuously.
