Physics is something that’s been at the heart of our favorite games for decades. Some of the ugliest games in history have heavily relied on physics in order to bring us fun gameplay and no matter how much we disliked the visuals we loved the gameplay. It’s no secret that Angry Birds is not only successful because of its fun visuals but, because it’s hard to put down. For this game review, I’m going to tell you about a game that is not only good looking but a whole lot of fun. Relying heavily on physics and genuine fun, Blosics presents a good choice but, is it as good as it looks? Read on to find out.
Description: Blosics is a game that, as the name would suggest, relies heavily on blocks and the game of knocking them down with balls and genuinely wreaking havoc and marvelling at the outcomes. This sounds like a relatively simple game but there’s so much on offer from Blosics that it quickly becomes a thrill ride. Firstly, the game gives you different colored balls to throw at the blocks that behave differently, drastically changing how you take down the blocks. Secondly, physics is present throughout the game and there’s some added features that makes the destruction of these block structures incredible fun and a real sight to behold. You can take a look at the trailer below for more info:
How It Works: It’s a simple download from the Play Store and there’s nothing extra to download so go ahead and download it now. After you’ve got the game you’re ready to play.
Thankfully – and geniously – the developers have added a tutorial, which teaches you how to play the game. Whilst it’s hardly a difficult game to grasp such a tutorial is most welcome and something all games should come with.
Once you’ve gotten through the tutorial, you can choose how you want to fling the balls at the block targets. This is a really nice choice as you can either drag and release or really fling the balls at the blocks with some serious force – bringing serious fun.
As you progress through the game you’ll unlock more balls and the more balls you unlock, the more fun you can have, different balls will have different effects and so using balls in conjunction with others will either help or hinder your progress.
There are added obstacles in the environments of these levels as well. For instance, the addition of ice presents you with the challenge of thinking how blocks will slide and where they will slide to. Take the level below, for instance, if I were to use a heavy ball the blocks will slide into the left hand side and be stuck there. The light ball is needed to gently coax the blocks down into oblivion.
There are bouncy panels to contest with as well underwater currents and portals later on in the game. The obstacles add a good dynamic to the game and challenge your brain as well as your quickfire trigger finger when throwing those balls around.
Opinion: There’s no beating around the bush when it comes Blosics, this game is freaking fun. Period. There’s very little, if anything, I have to complain about and there’s so much that adds to the simple pleasure of throwing things at other things. With different control schemes for those that might not be that confident there’s something for everyone here, accessibility is something key to games and Blosics gets it spot on.
Ratings
- Speed (5/5) – The game loads real quick and has a wonderful, frantic pace that is perfect for a physics game.
- Features (5/5) – With obstacles and differently weighted balls, there’s a lot on offer to make the basic gameplay feel fresh every level.
- Theme (4/5) – Whilst there is some flare to the Blosics, at times, blocks and backgrounds grow a little samey.
- Overall (5/5) – There’s so much on offer here that makes this an excellent game to play and something that everyone will enjoy.
Pros

- Weighted balls makes blocks lots of fun to destroy.
- Physics here are executed brilliantly and destruction is just plain fun to look at.
Cons

Conclusion: This is one of the best physics based games for Android and I’d go far as to say that it rivals Angry Birds, it’s fast paced fun that’s visceral and a sight to behold. I’ve had a whole lot of fun with this game and it’s something I’m going to be enjoying it for some time to come. It’s great for a quick few minutes as well as the longer sessions on the couch. It’s seriously worth paying the extra money to get rid of the ads as well, honestly, this is the most fun I’ve had in a while. You can grab Blosics on the Play Store now.
