This past week has been so crazy with all these different Nexus and Android 4.2 rumors. We’ve just about confirmed the LG Nexus (based on the Optimus G that’ll be available on Sprint and AT&T soon), but Android 4.2 has been named Jelly Bean and Key Lime Pie. I’m pretty sure it won’t be Jelly Bean. Google hasn’t used the same name for two different versions of Android since Eclair which became 2.0 and 2.1 as well as the Honeycomb fiasco which spanned 3.0 to 3.2 in one release. At one point it looked there would be a 2.4 release of Gingerbread but, it never happened. Last night one of Android’s engineers, Dan Morrill, went to Google+ to talk about the new Nexus:
Yeah not to much to show. But it leads me, as well as other journalists from different Android sites to think that we might be pretty far off from Android 4.2 and the successor to the Galaxy Nexus released last fall. There are a few rumors we’ve heard lately that we don’t believe to be true. But we’ll keep that for our podcast on Monday. We’ve got a lot to talk about, so be sure to tune in.
What rumors are you calling “BS” on? Perhaps the 5″ HTC Nexus, based on the Droid Incredible X which we haven’t seen in a while nor has been announced officially yet. Hit up the comments and let us know.
