Featured: HTC One S SE is Official, and Comes in White

The HTC One S has been one of the nicer to hold One series of devices to come out of the Taiwanese manufacturer. While the One X is undoubtedly the flagship device, the One S is a bit more rounded and feels better in the hand. Today HTC announced the HTC One S SE (Special Edition), which like the HTC One X+ comes with 64GB of internal storage. The sad thing is, the only real difference between the HTC One S, and the HTC One S SE is that it now comes in white and internal storage.

Here are the specs for the HTC One S SE:

  • 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 8 megapixel camera with HTC’s image chip with an f/2.0 lens
  • 1650mAh battery

The spec sheet does not list what version of Android the One S SE is running, but I’m hoping it’s running Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean. If not, then HTC has made another mistake. We also don’t know when the device is coming or which markets it’ll be available in. We expect it to hit Europe first, and then it’ll probably make its’ way to T-Mobile, where the current HTC One S is currently offered here in the US.

Why is HTC bringing out these successors to their One lineup but only changing minimal specs like the internal storage? As badly as HTC is doing financially you’d expect them to bump the specs more than what they are currently doing. So who’s interested in the HTC One S SE?
