Remember that sweet gamepad setup from PowerA that I talked about last month, the MOGA? Well it’s set to release October 21st and PowerA is now accepting pre-orders. You can pre-order them straight from PowerA on their website, but if you happen to be out and about and want to place a pre-order at a local retailer, lucky for you there are a few that are actually going to carry this awesome android gaming peripheral. Three to be exact. You can pick this up at Best Buy(of course, but don’t get your hopes up Best Buy… this won’t save you.), Toys R us(which is selling this for $59.99. So pretty much don’t order it here.) , and Walmart. Oh did I mention you can pre-order it on Amazon as well? No, I hadn’t yet. But I just did. And you can, which is most likely where I will be purchasing mine if I pick this up. If you must have this controller you can place your pre-order now at the above mentioned retailers, or wait to pick it up in store at one of the few local retailers that will be carrying it. Best Buy and Walmart will start to carry this on October 21st , so just a few short weeks till I have my hands on one. The real cool thing is that T-Mobile customers are said to be able to pick this up at a local retailer starting next month. Many of the location stores are also reported to have kiosks for customers to play with it as well.
Now I know some of you may not be as in to games as a few of us here at Android Headlines, *cough cough… + Tom Dawson and + Christina Gardner * And of course myself. So if you fall into this category, or just aren’t aware of the MOGA controller, it’s a Bluetooth powered gamepad for Android devices that lets you dock your phone and play with a connected controller. At the moment you can only play with MOGA supported games, but more will be added every month so this is something to look forward to. As of now you can already expect compatibility with games from publishers like Gameloft, Namco Bandai, SEGA, ATARI, and Remedy entertainment. The list of games can also be found below that will already work with the MOGA gamepad at launch.
- 3D hunting: Alaskan Hunt
- 3D Hunting: Zombies
- Atari’s Greatest Hits
- Duke Nukem 3D
- Dungeon Hunter 3
- Gangstar Rio: City of Saints
- Mike V: Skateboard Party
- N.O.V.A. 3
- Pac-Man by Namco
- Painkiller: Purgatory HD
- Six-Guns
- Sky Gamblers: Rise of Glory
- Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2
- Virtua Tennis Challenge
Already a fairly impressive list , with some games that I personally have been waiting to have added game support. What say you gamers out there? Who is looking forward to grabbing this for their android gaming sessions? If you are going to pre-order, let us know your thoughts in the comments thread and hopefully we’ll be able to do a review sometime after launch for those of you that are waiting to read up on it first.
