LG Nexus 4 is Indeed HSPA+ 42mbps; Play Store Reflects Changes

One of the big topics on the LG Nexus 4 is the connectivity. We all know that Google left LTE out of the LG Nexus 4, and that it’ll be HSPA+ all the way. But the spec’s were showing that it was HSPA+ 21mbps, which made a few people sad. Especially where T-Mobile is selling devices that support HSPA+ 42mbps. Also T-Mobile’s press release yesterday touted the LG Nexus 4 with HSPA+ 42mbps, so obviously somewhere somebody made a mistake.

It appeared to be Google. Today Google has clarifed that the Nexus 4 does support HSPA+ 42mbps and have updated their Play Store pages to reflect that change. So if you’re on AT&T, T-Mobile, Straight Talk, or any other GSM carrier you can feel free to buy the LG Nexus 4 and still get pretty fast speeds.

It may not be LTE, but HSPA+ with theoretical speeds of up to 42mbps is still plenty fast. About as fast as other LTE networks, except Verizon in some areas. So who’s picking up the Nexus 4 when it goes on sale November 13th? What carrier you putting it on?
