The Nexus Q which was announced at Google I/O this past June never really made it to market. It was put in the Play Store for pre-ordering, but shortly after Google pulled it and said they were going to work on it to make it better and that it would return. They even sent out an extra Nexus Q to everyone who pre-ordered. Two Nexus Q’s for the price of one.Well all this time it was sitting on the Nexus landing page (google.com/nexus) with the Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus. Now all you see is the Nexus 4, 7, and 10.
Over the past few days, I’ve heard various people saying they expect to see the Nexus Q make a reappearance at Google I/O 2013 with better software and features. And perhaps a better price tag. $299 for a sphere that lights up and plays music (and a few other features) is not really worth it to many people.
So what are your thoughts on the Nexus Q? Will we ever see it again? Or did they just cut the sphere’s in half and turn them into wireless charging docks for the Nexus 4?
