This week, Google blew our minds again. Offering the Nexus 4 starting at $299 unlocked, and the crazy high PPI on the Nexus 10 for just $399. Now Digitimes is reiterating the rumor they brought to the surface a few months ago, that Google and ASUS are working on a $99 Nexus 7 tablet.
So what would Google or ASUS cut on the Nexus 7 to make it viable to sell it for $99? Maybe they could just sell all the 8GB versions they have left for $99 to get rid of them? But who knows. If a $99 Nexus tablet does come, it’ll shake up the tablet market again. After the $199 Nexus 7 was announced, Amazon one-uped the search giant with their Kindle Fire starting at $159.99 for their 8GB version. All this can do is make competition steeper, which is good for the consumers.
