ASUS making a White Padfone 2? These leaked Press Shots say Yes

The ASUS Padfone 2 is an interesting concept. It’s a smartphone and tablet all in one. The smartphone part of the Padfone has your data connection and it slides into the back of the tablet component making it use the data connection from your phone on the tablet. It’s quite a nice concept, but the US carriers are to greedy to ever offer it. So we won’t see it in the States unless you buy it unlocked and have it shipped over here. We’ve gone over the Padfone 2 before, but as a reminder here are the specs:

  • 4.7″ 1280×720 Super IPS+ display; 10.1-inch 1280×800 IPS display
  • 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro Processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16/32/64GB of internal storage
  • 13MP rear facing camera, and a 1.2MP front facing camera
  • 2140mAh battery
  • Running Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich

Not to shabby on the specs, and we already know what the Snapdragon S4 Pro and the 2GB of RAM can do on a phone, thanks to the Nexus 4. But now it’s being leaked in white. Pretty nice to have another option for the Padfone 2 right? How does the picture below look?

If that’s not enough, we’ve got more further down in the post. Now considering that these shots look pretty official, and not leaks from Mr. Blurrycam which we see all to often, it’s likely that this is official and might be hitting shelves in the next few weeks. Especially with the holiday season right around the corner. It’s also being reported that the front is keeping the black bezels from the black Padfone 2. At least on the tablet part of the device. Although none of these pictures show the front of the Padfone docking station, a.k.a the tablet portion of the Padfone 2.

Given the specs and the fact that it is very likely the Padfone 2 won’t be coming to the US, would you pick it up? It’s a tablet and smartphone with HSPA+ and LTE connectivity all in one device. It’s also the only device of it’s kind, well besides the original Padfone which we did see at CES this past January in Las Vegas. Let us know in the comments if you plan on picking one up.
