Galaxy Note 10.1 To Receive Jelly Bean Update Soon; Europe Getting First Helping

When Samsung released the Note 10.1 they released a device that had  some pretty nice specs and of course, came with the S-Pen and all of the productivity apps that come with it. It’s not been all that successful but then again, we could say that about Android tablets in general and when it comes down to it, Samsung have done a good job of building out a whole range around the Note moniker. There’s a lot to be loved about the Note 10.1 and if you’re someone that went out and bought one you’ll more than likely be surprised with how sluggish it can be from time to time. This is in part down to the fact that it was launched running Ice Cream Sandwich, 4.0, now it looks like Samsung have finalised their version of Jelly Bean – 4.1.1 to be exact – for the tablet.

The update comes with a build number of N8000XXBLJ9 and it weighs in at around 300MB. Unfortunately, it appears to be starting in Europe, with Germany starting first, making the wait even longer for those of us in the States. It’s not all bad news though because, if Samsung are rolling the update out at all then it must mean that the update has passed testing and should be rolling out all over the place soon. So, if you’re in Germany go ahead and take a look to see if your Note is trying to tell you something.

There is a direct link to the firmware provided by our source, SamMobile but, don’t go thinking that this will work outside of Germany. It’s a bummer, we know, but at least means that it is definitely coming and you should hopefully get the update in the US come the end of the month.

As for what’s included in the update itself, there are some added pop-up apps and everything else associated with Jelly Bean. Project Butter is here in full swing and should make your Note feel a lot snappier, as for Google Now it’s present and correct just like you’d expect it to be so, if you take your Note 10.1 everywhere then it should start to learn a lot about you.
