The Galaxy Note line has undeniably been successful for Samsung, what many thought was just an overly large phone has turned into quite the seller. The Original Galaxy Note didn’t enjoy the same kind of availabilty that it’s younger brother is enjoying now and was only available on AT&T and some brief time on T-Mobile. With he Galaxy Note II though, Samsung have taken the same approach as they did with the Galaxy S III and are launching it on all four major US carriers. Now, this hasn’t been a seamless launch of course as different carriers have had the Note II go up for sale at different times.
Verizon seem to be the last out of the gate when it comes to the Note II and it’ll be available from Big Red starting tomorrow – November 29th – and will come in at a nice $299 on contract. So, we wonder why the Note II has taken so long to become available on the US’ biggest wireless network? Whatever it might be that has slowed Verizon down, the Note II is just as good as it always was, with the fantastic S Pen and its suite of apps as well as that gorgeous 5.5″ HD Display to boot. I’m not sure whether Verizon have made the choice for us with the recent launch of the Droid DNA – not to mention the HIDEOUS Verizon logo on the home button – but, if you’re looking for nothing but a bigger screen then, you’d be a lot better off going for the Droid DNA. There’s a higher resolution display at work there and a faster CPU as well. If you’re looking for the added functionality of true pen input and much longer battery life then you might want to go for the Note II – but is it really worth an extra benjamin? Both will lock you into a contract with Big Red – unless you pay full price of course – so keep that in mind as well. let us know which one you’d be picking, and take a look at our Phone War between these two.
